Vinko Culjak Mathieu

Vinko is a master’s student at McGill University and the Lyman Entomological Museum. He studies the interactions between plants and insects in the Canadian Arctic and how those interactions change across time. He is active in many science communication and outreach initiatives in addition to Useful Science such as Skype-a-Scientist, the McGill Bee Club, and Letters to a Pre-Scientist. He gives public talks on ecology, speaks to middle school classes about biology and evolution, and uses his Instagram account to highlight the diversity of insects and plants. In his spare time, Vinko teaches workshops on science communication, collects bugs, and practices macro photography.
