4: Music, napping, and video games

This week we learn about the benefits of napping, how music makes you smarter, and why you should be playing more video games.

Jaime Devine

Jaime K Devine has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Brandeis University. Her research focuses on how human behavior interacts with biological functioning, particularly between sleep and the endocrine system. When she is not doing science, Jaime enjoys wrestling, wife carrying and acting in horror movies.

Kevin Neibert

Kevin graduated from McGill with a PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, specializing in Nanotechnology. In his spare time he reads & writes about science in society. He also works with video game developers as a science media consultant at Thwacke! to help to make games smarter.

Athanasios Athanassiadis

Thanasi is a PhD student at MIT, currently working on underwater robotics and sensing. He focuses on research and outreach projects that blend fundamental physics, technological novelty, and social need. When not science-ing, Thanasi can be found cooking or playing clarinet with Greek, Turkish, and Arabic music groups around the Northeast.

Cameron is a designer and web developer. He is the founder of Lab 43.
